ICC SME Labs: Legal Essentials for Start-ups: Starting to Operate

The third and final session of SME Labs Series, organized by International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for small and medium sized enterprises (SME’s) and newly-established companies, titled “Legal Essentials for Start-ups: Starting to Operate”, was held online on June 29th, 2021.

The panel series focus on “ICC Model Contracts for Start-ups” which was developed by a dedicated working group of international expert practitioners, including Senior Associate Ecem Süsoy Uygun from Erdem & Erdem, associated with the ICC Commission on Commercial Law and Practice (CLP) that chaired by Prof. Dr. H. Ercüment Erdem, Founder & Senior Partner of Erdem & Erdem.

The panel was moderated by Prof. Dr. H. Ercüment Erdem, Founder and Senior Partner of Erdem & Erdem and the Chair of the ICC Commercial Law and Practice Commission. Fabio Bortolotti and Silvia Bortolotti from BBM Buffa Bortolotti & Mathis and Karima-Catherine Goundiam from B2BeeMatch were present as speakers of the third session.

In this session of ICC SME Labs Series, 5 model contracts of ICC were handled. ICC Model International Sale Agreement, ICC Model Distributorship Agreement, ICC Model Agency Agreement, ICC Model Franchising Agreement, and ICC Model Consultancy Agreement were discussed within the scope of how they can be adapted for the business and the flexible solutions they offer to cross-border agreements.
