Amendments Regarding “Authorized Sender” Practice are Introduced
Through the promulgation of the Regulation on Amendment to Customs Regulation (“Regulation”), published in the Official Gazette dated 24th September 2021 and numbered 31608, significant changes regarding the Authorized Sender practice are made.
Through the Regulation, the Authorized Sender practice has been removed from the scope of Authorized Economic Operator (“AEO”) and added to the scope of Transit Regime. Pursuant to this amendment, persons aiming to carry out transit operations without submitting the goods subject to the transit regime to the departure custom office, may be qualified as “Authorized Sender”.
In addition, through the Regulation, it is stated that in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation on Facilitation of Customs Procedures, the Authorized Sender authorization and facility authorizations already granted will remain valid until 31/12/2023.
