Ecem Süsoy Uygun Delivers Guest Lecture at Koç University on the Reflection of ESG in Contracts and Its Competition Law Implications
Ecem Süsoy Uygun, Managing Associate at Erdem & Erdem Law Office, delivered a guest lecture on Friday, January 16, 2026, as part of a graduate-level law program at Koç University.
As part of the course, the role of ESG in contract law, sample ESG clauses that can be incorporated into agreements, and the potential effects and consequences of ESG-based agreements under competition law were discussed. How ESG obligations can be embedded contractually through supply chain, audit, and reporting processes and the audit/sanction, termination, and risk-mitigation mechanisms that support compliance, transparency, and traceability were also evaluated. In addition, the competition law implications of ESG-based contracts were examined in light of illustrative regulations and authority decisions.
