“Sustainability for Executives” Workshop
On 21 October 2026, we hosted the “Sustainability for Executives” workshop for senior executives at Erdem & Erdem Istanbul office.
The workshop offered a comprehensive look at sustainability, compliance and green finance criteria from business, financial and legal perspectives. Sessions ranged from the impact of the green transition on companies’ cost structures and competitiveness to the changes carbon regulations are bringing to supply chains and production processes, with particular emphasis on sustainability compliance becoming an increasingly fundamental requirement for access to finance. The agenda also covered the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), evolving expectations and obligations across value chains, and sector-specific best practices.
The workshop opened with the session “Sustainability on the Management Agenda”, led by Erdem & Erdem Partner & Head of Banking, Finance and Capital Markets, Ceren Şen, and Erdem & Erdem Managing Associate, Ecem Süsoy Uygun.
The session “The Financial Impact of Carbon: Cost, Profitability and Risk Management” featured Neslihan Akgün Ergüven, Sustainability Director at Çimsa, and Çağrı Yıldız, Executive Director at Garanti BBVA.Dilan Arslan, Founder and Lead Verifier, and Burcu Şimşek, Lead Verifier, at Meva Global Certification, and Özlem Ünlüer, Sustainability Director at Beko, shared their insights in the sessions “Carbon Certification, Product Performance and Data Assurance” and “Supply Chain in the Green Transition”, respectively.
Sena Ödensoy Ayhan, Sustainable Finance Manager at Akbank, and Elif Erkek Baknalı, Green Economy Transition Manager at the EBRD, spoke in the session “Sustainable Finance and Investment Opportunities”, while Esra Cevahir, Chair of the Board of Procompo Çevre Teknolojileri, and Barış Beşli, General Manager of PlanetTEK Çevre ve Arıtma Teknolojileri, took part in the session “Good Practices from Green Transition Companies”.
The workshop concluded with the session “Management Priorities and Roadmap”, in which participants jointly assessed the priorities companies should place on their agendas for the 2026–2030 period.
