Registration Periods of the VERBIS have been re-extended due to Covid-19

Through the decision dated 23.06.2020 and numbered 2020/482 (“Decision”), the Personal Data Protection Board has decided to re-extend the registration periods of the Data Controllers Registry (“VERBIS”) due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Pursuant to the Decision, the periods to enroll in the VERBIS;

  • For the data controllers who employ more than 50 employees in a year or whose total annual financial statement is more than 25 million Turkish Liras have been extended from 30.06.2020 to 30.09.2020,
  • For the data controllers resident abroad have been extended from 30.06.2020 to 30.09.2020,
  • For the data controllers who process special categories of personal data as their main activity even if they employ less than 50 employees in a year, and their total annual financial statement is less than 25 million Turkish Liras have been extended from 30.09.2020 to 31.03.2021 and
  • For the data controllers who are state institutions and organizations have been extended from 31.12.2020 to 31.03.2021.
