The Regulation Amending the Regulation on the Procedures and Principles Regarding the Sale and Service of Tobacco Products and Alcoholic Beverages

The Regulation Amending the Regulation on the Procedures and Principles Regarding the Sale and Service of Tobacco Products and Alcoholic Beverages (Regulation) is published in the Official Gazette dated 20.09.2023 and numbered 32315. The amendments introduced by the Regulation are summarized below:
- The places where tobacco products and alcoholic beverages cannot be sold and served have been expanded. Accordingly; tobacco products cannot be sold in places where health, education and training, culture and sports services are provided; in the open areas of these places, in the buildings where the service is provided, in the extensions and gardens of the buildings. Alcoholic beverages cannot be sold or served in student dormitories; in the buildings, extensions and gardens of the buildings used exclusively for this service, within the borders of the dormitory campus; in places where health services are provided; in the buildings, extensions and gardens of the buildings used exclusively for this service, within the borders of the campus if they operate within the campus; in stadiums and indoor sports halls where sports competitions are held; in all kinds of educational and training institutions; in buildings used exclusively for this service, in the extensions and gardens of the buildings, within the boundaries of the campus if they operate within the campus; coffee houses, cafes, patisseries, pinochle and bridge halls and fuel stations.
- Retail sale certificates for tobacco products and/or alcoholic beverages shall not be issued for the purpose of operating in places where open alcoholic beverages are sold or in parts of these places that are not completely independent. This rule does not apply to retail sale places operating in accommodation facilities, picnic areas and campsites that have open alcoholic beverage sales licenses.
