ICC SME Labs: Legal Essentials for Start-ups: Organizing Your Company

The second session of SME Labs Series, organized by International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for small and medium sized enterprises (SME’s) and newly-established companies, titled “Legal Essentials for Start-ups: Organizing Your Company”, was held online on June 2nd, 2021.

The panel focuses on “ICC Model Contracts for Start-ups” which was developed by a dedicated working group of international expert practitioners, including Senior Associate Ecem Süsoy Uygun from Erdem & Erdem, associated with the ICC Commission on Commercial Law and Practice (CLP) that chaired by Prof. Dr. H. Ercüment Erdem, Founder & Senior Partner of Erdem & Erdem.

The panel was moderated by Prof. Dr. H. Ercüment Erdem, Founder and Senior Partner of Erdem & Erdem and the Chair of the ICC Commercial Law and Practice Commission, and along with Ecem Süsoy Uygun, Senior Associate from Erdem & Erdem, Sergi Gimenez Binder, Souleymane Gning and Cecilia Xu Lindsey were present as speakers of the second session.

In this session of ICC SME Labs Series, 4 model contracts of ICC were handled. ICC Model Employment Agreement, ICC Model Directors Services Agreement, the IP Guidance Document, and Boilerplate Clauses were discussed within the scope of how they can be adapted and how they can be efficiently used to protect the business without breaking the bank.
