The Third Edition of "International Commercial Law" by Prof. Dr. H. Ercüment Erdem Has Been Published
We are pleased to announce the publication of the 3rd Edition of “International Commercial Law” by our Founder and Senior Partner, Prof. Dr. H. Ercüment Erdem, Emeritus Professor at Galatasaray University Faculty of Law, by On İki Levha Publishing.
This comprehensive work, which has garnered significant interest from readers and whose 2nd Edition sold out in a very short period, has been updated and expanded for its 3rd Edition. It covers Lex Mercatoria, UNIDROIT Principles, ICC Model Contracts, ICC Force Majeure and Hardship Clauses, Commercial Terms (Incoterms®), the Vienna Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG), International Agency, Sole Distributorship, Franchise and Licensing Agreements, International Payment Methods, and International Arbitration.
Noting that the COVID-19 pandemic, which profoundly impacted the world and continues to affect our lives, has paved the way for many necessary innovations and practices, Professor Erdem has extensively addressed the ICC Force Majeure and Hardship Clauses published in 2020, the 2021 version of the ICC Arbitration Rules, and the revised UNCITRAL Mediation Rules. He has also evaluated new publications and notable decisions that emerged in the four years between the 2nd and 3rd Editions.
As in previous editions, Prof. Dr. H. Ercüment Erdem has revised the book considering the discussions held with his students during the master’s and doctoral courses he taught at Galatasaray University and the University of Fribourg. He has updated all sources, judicial and arbitral decisions, and legislation as of December 31, 2023. Furthermore, he has included the updated 2014 IBA Guidelines on Conflicts of Interest in International Arbitration as of February 2024.
