The Regulation on the Amendment to the Regulation on Bank Cards and Credit Cards is published
The Regulation on the Amendment to the Regulation on Bank Cards and Credit Cards entered into force through publication in the Official Gazette dated 25.09.2020 and numbered 31255.
With the amendments, the provisions of the Regulation on Bank Cards and Credit Cards (“Regulation”) has been brought into compliance with the provisions regarding the “distance agreements” under the Law No. 5464 on Bank Cards and Credit Cards. In this regard, the terms of “permanent data storage unit” and “distant communication tool” are defined under the Regulation.
Additionally, the institutions conducting clearing and settlement activities are excluded from the scope of the Regulation.
Another important amendment is the certain notification obligations of the member businesses, regarding the information on its sub-businesses, for the cases when the member business allows its sub-business to use the POS services. Such notification shall be addressed to the institution which is a party to the member business agreement.
