“The New Order in Platform Services: Significant Market Power, Data and Much More!” Webinar organized by Erdem & Erdem Law Office was held on Wednesday, November 19.
Erdem & Erdem Partner and Competition and Compliance Leader Mert Karamustafaoğlu, moderated the webinar in which, Dr Ahmet Fatih Özkan from Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, Ankara Faculty of Law Department and Can Yıldız, one of Erdem & Erdem Competition and Compliance Department associates participated as speakers. During the online event, the proposed amendments to the Competition Law were discussed, noting that the amendments to the Competition Law are still in draft form and may take a different form before they enter into force. It was mentioned that the amendments, which foresee many new definitions, responsibilities and sanctions that were not previously included in the Competition Law, should be analyzed by comparing them with established competition law concepts such as 'dominant position'.
In this context, during the webinar, the current version of the Draft Amendment and the innovations introduced to our competition law were discussed. In particular, the controversial points in the Draft Amendment were analyzed from different perspectives and the implications of these amendments in competition law practice were evaluated.
