The 6th Current Problems in Arbitration Webinar
The sixth of the "Current Problems in Arbitration" webinar series was held online on June 3, 2022, in cooperation with the Turkish Arbitration Academy and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Arbitration and Mediation Center (ITOTAM). The event was consisted two sessions and lasted around 3 hours.
The opening speech of the event was delivered by Dr. Eda Manav Özdemir, T.R. President of the Presidency of Administrative Affairs, General Directorate of Law and Legislation - Head of International Arbitration and Alternative Solutions Department and, Member of the Coordination Board of the Turkish Arbitration Academy Association, along with Prof. Dr. Hakan Pekcanıtez, President of ITOTAM Arbitration Court and Galatasaray University Faculty of Law Faculty Member.
In the first session of the event, moderated by Erdem & Erdem Founder and Senior Partner Prof. Dr. H. Ercüment Erdem, the subject of “Arbitration Agreement” was discussed. In this session, Prof. Dr. Erdem Büyüksağış from Yeditepe University Faculty of Law and Freiburg University, Prof. Dr. Ziya Akıncı, President of Istanbul Arbitration Center and Galatasaray University Faculty of Law Lecturer and Nevzat Boztaş, Head of the 14th Civil Chamber of the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice, shared their insigts on the subject.
In the second session on "Cancellation Cases", moderated by "Dr. Adem Aslan", Member of the 11th Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court of Appeals; Doğan Ağırman, Tülin Kurtoğlu, Prof. Dr. Ali Yeşilırmak and Prof. Dr. Hakan Pekcanıtez made presentations on various subjects within the framework of cancellation cases.
